Menifee & Riverside County Roof Replacement

A new roof for homes in Menifee and across Riverside County, or new underlayment under the tile you already have. We replace shingle and flat roofs, and lift and relay tile roofs.

How We Do It

Shingle and flat re-roofs, and tile lift and relay

What a replacement involves depends on the roof. A shingle roof comes off down to the deck and goes back on new. A tile roof can usually keep its tile: on a lift and relay, we take the tiles off, replace the underlayment and worn valley metal, and set the same tiles back. A flat roof gets new torch down or a single ply membrane.

Once the old roofing is off, we replace any decking that is soft or rotted, so the new roof goes onto a solid deck. Pick your roof below to see how each one is done, with photos from our jobs.

What The Job Involves

  1. Tear-off down to the deck

  2. Replacing soft or rotted decking

  3. New underlayment and flashing

  4. New roofing, or the same tile set back

Signs To Watch For

Repair Or Replace?

  1. Leaks In More Than One Place

One leak at a flashing is usually a repair. Leaks in several places, or a leak that keeps coming back after it's fixed, often point to underlayment worn out across the roof.

  2. Shingles At The End Of Their Life

Shingles that curl, crack or wear down to bare spots all over the roof aren't worth patching one at a time. Each patch only buys a little time.

  3. A Soft Or Sagging Deck

A deck that feels soft underfoot, or sags between the rafters, has usually taken on water. That wood has to come out, and the roofing over it comes off to get to it.

Permits & Title 24

A New Roof Needs A Permit

In Menifee, every re-roof needs a building permit, and work can't start until it's issued. Every other city with a page on this site has its own re-roof process, and each city page explains it, with links to the city's documents.

Menifee and every other city with a page here are in California's Climate Zone 10. When more than half of a roof is replaced there, the 2025 Energy Code sets minimum cool-roof values for the new roofing, unless an exception applies.

Questions

Roof Replacement Questions

  1. Do I need a new roof or just a repair?

It depends on what is failing and how much of the roof it covers. A leak at one flashing or a few broken tiles is a repair. Underlayment worn out across the roof, decking gone soft in places, or shingles at the end of their life call for a replacement. We get up on the roof and tell you which.

  2. What affects the cost of a new roof?

The size and pitch of the roof, how many layers come off, how much decking has to be replaced, the roofing you choose, and what your city's permit and the cool-roof rules require. We give free quotes after we look at the roof.

  3. Does a new roof have to be a cool roof?

In Climate Zone 10, a re-roof that replaces more than half the roof has to meet California's cool-roof values for new roofing, unless an exception applies. On a roof pitched 2:12 or more, one exception is a home with no ducts in the attic. Our permit guide explains the rest.
