Menifee & Riverside County Roof Repair

Roof repair in Menifee and across Riverside County starts with finding where the water gets in. Most leaks start in a few places: flashings, valleys, vents, cracked tile, and decking gone soft.

How We Do It

Leaks, flashings, valleys and rotted decking

We trace the water to where it gets in and fix it there. Sometimes the damage runs past the spot you can see. The rotted decking in the first photo is what water does to a roof deck over time.

When the deck is bad, we replace it. The photos below include new decking on a mobile home and on a commercial flat roof.

What The Job Involves

  1. Finding the source of the leak

  2. Flashing and valley repairs

  3. Replacing broken shingles or tile

Signs To Watch For

Signs Of A Roof Leak

  1. Stains On The Ceiling

A brown ring on a ceiling or wall is water that got past the roof. The spot inside often isn't right under the spot where the water gets in.

  2. Damp Or Dark Wood In The Attic

Look up at the underside of the roof deck. Dark, damp or soft wood around a nail, a vent or a valley marks where water comes through.

  3. Damage You Can See From The Yard

Missing shingles, cracked or slipped tile, and flashing pulled away from a wall are all ways in for the next rain.

Permits & Title 24

Does A Repair Need A Permit?

It depends on the city and the size of the job. Hemet requires a permit for re-roofing of 100 square feet or more. Temecula's handout for re-roofs under solar panels says repairs under 10% of the roof or 200 square feet, whichever is smaller, need no permit if they don't affect the solar.

Menifee requires a permit for every re-roof. If a repair turns into replacing part of the roof, check with the city first; each city page links to its building department.

  2. Do you replace rotted decking?

Yes. When the deck is bad we replace it. The photos on this page include new decking on a mobile home and on a commercial flat roof.

  3. Where do most leaks start?

In a few places: flashings, valleys, vents, cracked tile, and decking gone soft. That is where we look first.
